ADM | Forgot Apex Local Username and Password – Neptune Systems

If you are unable to log into Apex Local, first confirm that you are using the Apex Local login and not your Apex Fusion login.

Your Apex Local username and password are separate from your Apex Fusion login. Resetting your Fusion password will not reset the username or password used to access Apex Local.

Try the Default Apex Local Login

Please try the default Apex Local login first:

Username: admin
Password: 1234

If the default login does not work, then the Apex Local username and password were likely changed at some point.

Unfortunately, once the local login has been changed, there are limited recovery options.

Available Options

Option 1: Use an Apex Display Module

An Apex Display module may allow you to view or update the Apex Local login information.

If you do not have a working display, you may be able to borrow one from:

A local fish store
A reef club
Another local Apex user

Option 2: Send In Your Apex Display Module

If you already have an Apex Display module but it is not functioning properly, the display may be sent in for diagnosis or repair.

Option 3: Purchase a Replacement Apex Display Module

A replacement Apex Display module may be purchased if available.

This would be the silver Apex Display with the orange backlight.

Option 4: Initialize the Apex Back to Factory Settings

As a last resort, the Apex can be initialized back to factory settings.

For Apex A1 units, Neptune Support can provide a special initialization file that can be used from a PC.

For Apex A2/A3 units, press and hold the reset button until the status light turns red.

This will reset the Apex back to factory defaults, including the Apex Local login credentials.

Important Warning

Initializing the Apex will erase the current Apex configuration and programming.

This should only be used as a last resort if the username and password cannot be recovered using an Apex Display module, display repair, or a replacement display.
